ZiZZiSTUDiO is Open!
Introduction:
Hi there - my name is Burke, and this is my little website. I've been "running" ZizziStudio.com for a handful of years, dating all the way back to 2012 in high school. For a long time (pretty much until now), it's just been sitting empty and collecting dust. Now, in 2026, I am on a mission to bring it back to life, along with a handful of other projects that I've started. :)
So, what's the point?
I'm glad you asked! To be frank, I'd lost interest in web design in my young adult life (my early 20's). I saw the Internet going in directions that I really wasn't a big fan of. In high school, it was cool. It was fun. In middle school, it was even more fun. MySpace ruled the land, the Internet was a creative space to chat with your friends and make cool things.
Then, it all started to go downhill, and we have Facebook to blame. To Facebook's credit - if it hadn't been them, it would have likely been somebody else. Ah - the evolution of the Internet. Now, we get to either "doomscroll" through advertisements and clickbait, or take off completely. But - what if there is another option?
"Indie Web Movement"
Yes - it DOES exist. The Indie Web Movement, which is a small group of people from around the world, who wish to see, and seek to find, the creativity of the late '90s and early 2000's Internet! The Internet where it was about having fun and being creative - not being a dollar sign for a giant corporation.
The Indie Web Movement is on a mission to create creative, fun and interactive places on the web that aren't focused on algorithms and sales pitches. Webspace that is for the purpose of bringing out the creativity and imagination of the people who use it. There are even more than you probably think!
Where should you go?
There are a handful of awesome places to check out in 2026! If you aren't sure where to start, there is a handful of indie web design communities to be found within Reddit! One of my favorites right now, that I just joined, is called Neocities! This is a great place to start creating and exploring!
If you are on Neocities and want to check out my page or follow me, visit: www.mindfulsilence.neocities.org/ - that's where I'll be posting other than on ZiZZiSTUDiO! A second great place to check out is SpaceHey! Although I feel they could use some "originality help," it definitely helps to bring back some 2006 MySpace feelings!
ZiZZiSTUDiO Projects
ZiZZiSTUDiO has a few projects on the server, also! When I first got back into web design after finding the Indie Web Movement, I was also in a period of my life where I needed to be sober. That's when I started Sober-Thoughtz! It's a small community website that focuses on bringing sober people together to unite in sobriety.
A second project formed after that, which is called TheNodeWorld. This, being my second project, is a more broad website/app with a creative spin! An infinite whiteboard with a real-time IRC chat! Artwork, writing, HTML widgets, blog posts -- anything! A giant multi-user collab-board with a chat!
Wrapping This Up!
That's about all I have for a brief introduction to how ZiZZiSTUDiO was "brought back to life" and the inspiration behind it! If you check out Neocities or SpaceHey, you can find me with these links:
mindfulsilence.neocities.org
spacehey.com/mindfulsilence
If you want to checkout TheNodeWorld or Sober-Thoughtz, you can learn more about each of them by looking at my projects! Both of them will be posted soon. If you see this and they still have not been added, checkout:
theworldnode.com
sober-thoughtz.com
Thanks for reading!
If you've made it to the end of this post, you are DEFINITELY fit for the Indie Web Movement! Soon, my contact form will be finished here and you'll be able to shoot me a message using it. Until then, you can track me down often using TheNodeWorld. Thanks!
Warm Wishes,
--MindfulSilence
